Come out and play! Science tells us that laughter and play have beneficial effects on our immunity, stress hormones, blood pressure, cholesterol, and even our hunger hormones. This beginner-friendly introduction to improv comedy and games will encourage laughter, lightness, heart-opening joy, and whatever you would call the opposite of perfectionism. You work hard every day – at your job, raising your kids, taking care of your family. Underneath the daily grind of deadlines, dishes, laundry, and Legos, it's easy to lose contact with your own playful and creative side. (We all have one, you know!) Come connect with your inner child and play for the sake of play.
Here is an opportunity to do something totally healthy for yourself ... and to have a ball, at the same time. We're not training the next stars of Who's Line Is It, Anyway? - we're simply offering you the chance to engage in the sheer fun of playing with others. We guarantee laughter!

Instructors Jenny Foster and Jim Readey will facilitate this workshop and provide a safe, guided space for everyone to play, explore, be silly, and discover. Jenny, a mom of two young children, teaches creative dance at the River Guild and other locations. She has an extensive background in theater, has taught improv classes to children and teens, and has trained and performed at ImprovBoston in Cambridge, MA. Jim is a Kripalu-certified yoga teacher, holistic health instructor, yoga teacher mentor, iRest yoga nidra facilitator, and improv enthusiast, having led numerous mindfulness-based improv workshops throughout New England the past several years. He runs The Yoga Center in Concord, where he has been teaching for more than 20 years.
