This support group takes place every last Wednesday of the month at 6pm.
Discussion and support group focusing on rotating topics related to c-sections such as “Grieving and Healing”, “VBAC Fears and Frustrations”, “Choosing a Provider and Birth Setting”, and “Labor Support & Doula Myths” – in addition to whatever the community feels called to discuss.
Maria lives in Concord with her two beautiful little boys, Paul and Marco. She earned a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Studies from New York University in 2004 and spent the better part of the following decade running a restaurant in Manhattan. Moving to the Granite State offered her the opportunity to begin pursuing her passion for all things maternal/child health; she trained with DONA to become a birth doula in 2015 and started a local International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) chapter in 2016. Maria currently works at the Manchester VNA providing support to families who have children with chronic and/or acute illnesses while taking classes towards her M.S. in Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University. She is excited to be offering monthly ICAN meetings at The River Guild!
