Teacher: Sarah Schmidt
Cost: $20 per class, $60 for all four
This class takes place on August 1, 8, 22, & 29, from 3:30 to 4:30pm
In this 4 week series, kids will learn how to make simple, healthy snacks they’ll love. This is a great way to get kids comfortable in the kitchen and teach them independence in choosing and preparing nourishing snacks. In addition to making (and eating!) snacks, each week we’ll have discussion and activities geared toward creating healthy relationships with food.
Week 1: Fun with Dip!
In this class we’ll make some fun - and healthy - dips to try. Discussion and activities will focus on how to know what “healthy” is and listening to our bodies when making food choices.
Week 2: Customize your Granola
This week kids will be able to customize their snack to their tastes. We’ll focus more on paying attention to our bodies as well as paying attention to our food. No more mindless snacking!
Week 3: Energize your Snacks
We’ll be making fun energy bites/bars and talking all about energy this week. How do we get energy? How do we use energy? We’ll also add in a little movement to balance our healthy lives.
Week 4: Something Sweet
Our last week we’ll be making some naturally sweet “treat” options. Activity and discussion will be geared toward sugar awareness and having a sweet life without the sugar crash.
